Sucre d'Orge develops practical, attractive and comfortable clothing with support of
Our practical, attractive and comfortable clothing that is simple to put on, guarantees maximum safety and coordinates with the other important items in Baby's daily life (bath capes and bath accessories, baby bathrobes, soft toys and comforters, etc.)
Baby: still too many cot deaths. SUCRE D’ORGE is actively involved in raising awareness among parents of this phenomenon, with its many causes, through its sleep safety brochure, which is filled with advice and products suitable for when Baby is sleeping! And to enhance its know-how, Sucre d’Orge regularly carries out marketing studies and tests on its range to ensure it is able to meet mums’ expectations as closely as possible.
The car-safe baby sleeping bag: created in 1997, the baby sleeping bag has a zipped opening which allows the car seat safety belt to pass through it.SOS DOUDOU ®: because the emotional bond between Baby and his comforter is very strong, Sucre d'Orge devised the SOS DOUDOU service in 1997 in response to parents' requests; A unique service that enables you to quickly replace the lost comforter (even if it is several years old!). Just ask! Sucre d'Orge keeps a supply of each type of comforter in stock.
The good health range: developed in 1999 for babies that are susceptible to respiratory allergies caused by mites that colonise bedding fillings. Sucre d'Orge has designed cot bumpers and sleeping bags whose filling fabric eliminates 100% of mites.
The cot bumper with mattress undersheet that cannot be lifted up by Baby: developed in 2002 with the help of childcare professionals, the cushioned / quilted cot bumper protects Baby from draughts and from banging against the bars of the cot. Sucre d'Orge has added a fabric base that slips beneath the mattress to prevent "nosy" babies from poking their heads beneath the cot bumper. Registered design.
Specialising in welcome gifts for babies, the Salmon Arc en Ciel group designs, perfects, manufactures and sells a coordinated and affectionate range of day and nightwear for newborns and children up to 8 years of age, together with bedding, child care and bathing items, comforters, toys and gift boxes. Situated between Nantes and Cholet, the Salmon Arc en Ciel group traces its origins back to the skilled Cholet tradition of producing handkerchiefs and prettily embroidered cradle or bed linen presented in boxes. A small family-run independent business located in the Maine et Loire department (F-49), at the gateway to the Mauges, its 360 employees are all inspired by the same thing - love of and devotion to babies. The strength of the Salmon Arc en Ciel group lies in its unique cultural and industrial heritage regarding babies. In spite of globalisation, amongst its 360 personnel in France the Group has maintained a unique workshop in France with more than 60 staff responsible for the development in France of all the products designed and marketed. In this way it keeps control of all its technical expertise: design, research department, textiles and packaging, cutting, screen printing, embroidery, workshops for production, marking and despatch, control laboratory, logistics, etc. The materials used during the manufacture of our products meet the European ecological and regulatory requirements (32 chemicals either prohibited or limited). G.S.A. requires all it suppliers to agree to adhere to these requirements and to ensure that they do so by controls in independent laboratories. They must sign very strict specifications. Assembly of products takes place in our workshop in France, or in North African countries using European materials. Assembly also takes place in China, as globalisation is an industrial reality which cannot be ignored. In fact, the company has decided to make relocation a strong-point, keeping all the assets of the French organisation. Double monitoring of production is performed: • At our suppliers due to our on-site teams • By our control centre on reception. If a problem is discovered in a product, all the products in the delivery are checked one by one.
Certified ISO 9001:2000. This quality approach motivates the entire staff and covers design, creation, production, sales and delivery of the welcome gifts (clothing, nursery essentials, comforters, games, packaging), no matter what the location and method of manufacture. .
Virtual visit: welcome to Sucre d'Orge!
All of Sucre d'Orge's products are designed, tested and prototyped within the company, in France. Today a high achieving, profitable company, even though ten years ago it had fallen on hard times, GSA owes its salvation to the globalisation of its purchasing and production. The company has in fact decided to take advantage of relocation, whilst retaining all of the jobs within the French company.
The design of our products is based on: - listening to mothers' wishes and the needs of Baby- the recommendations of our consultant paediatricians - the suggestions of our clients
Then, taking these requirements as a starting point, the designer creates designs by building up a story of a day in the life of a baby (choice of materials, colours, characters etc.).
Our screen printing department starts testing the materials, prints and patterns.
.
The pattern designer then makes a pattern that will define how the product is cut. She then starts the manufacturing of a prototype, which is taken care of by our workshop (the ITG) of 50 people (!), which enables each product assembly stage to be checked to ensure it meets Sucre d'Orge's quality standards.Fittings are also carried out with children to check the suitability of the product (safety, comfort, quality and softness of the materials). Finally, every item that is produced is subjected to checking by the quality department, notably for conformity with the strictest of safety standards as imposed by Sucre d’Orge, some of which go beyond the statutory regulations.
The control centre. This centre checks the conformity of the products offered for sale: there are 26 predefined points to check (wash tests, robustness of sewing, press studs, sizing chart etc.).Checking the conformity and quality of the goods
Sucre d'Orge even keeps complete control over the folding of its embroidered cradle and bed linen for presentation in gift boxes! Each item is folded by hand in accordance with unique traditional techniques!
